Abstract

The article discusses the problem involving the practice in journalism of exemplifying the issue through the selection of specific events and the attribution of the issue to an external and internal cause. Topics discussed include the generalized perceptions led by the specific exemplars, the accident of the airplane of Polish Air Force TU-154 in Smolensk, Russia in 2010, and the role played by exemplification on the perceptions of the public on events or issues.
