Abstract
- The article focuses on the impact of Ford Motor Co. on the economy of Detroit, Michigan. Douglas Brinkley, made a deal with William Clay Ford Sr. to create an unbiased account on the company's beginnings, accomplishments and failures. Titled 'Wheels for the World: Henry Ford, His Company and a Century of Progress,' Brinkley's book chronicles the lives of the Ford family and the company's impact on the Detroit area economy. The historian researched the company for more than six years, making trips to Dearborn with full access to the Benson Ford Research Center and the Henry Ford Museum and Library and with help from Ford Motor's archivists.
