Abstract
- The aim of this article was to compare the expression of p53 protein in oral lichen planus (OLP) and oral lichenoid reaction (OLR). The study population consisted of 65 patients— 31 diagnosed with OLP and 3 4 with OLR. The results showed more p53 positive cases in the OLP group than in the OLR group. However, the difference between the 2 groups was not statistically significant (P= 0.114). The most common immunolocalization was observed at the basal cell layer. Due to the chance of potential future malignancy, follow -up for all cases is recommended. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
