Abstract

The article discusses Great Britain's multicultural policies from circa 1900 through 1945, including its policies on race and the cultural diversity among ethnic groups in the country. The cosmopolitan nature of Great Britain during the early 20th century, including the concept of the other, cross-cultural differences and subaltern cosmopolitanism, is discussed.
