Abstract
- The article reports on the factors that affect the biotransformation, toxicity and detoxification of paralytic shellfish toxins. These involve environmental parameters and eutrophication. It mentions the escalation of red tide events in the world wherein the occurrence of high algal cell density. An overview of its bioassay and chemical assay methods is also presented.
