Abstract
- A literary criticism of the book "Lucy" by Jamaica Kincaid is presented. It outlines the characters and explores the symbolic significance of these characters. It examines the impact of patriarchal and colonial limitations on women's desires to explore themselves and their talents within their communities. It explores the ideological and generational conflict between traditional womanhood and modern women.
