Abstract

[Objective]The residues of tebuconazole were studied in different banana tissues to provide support for the safty of banana and its waste. [Method]With the foliar and the whole plant spray application, tebuconazole EW was sprayed on the banana plants including leaf and cluster and the residues of tebuconazole were determinated by HPLC. According to the first-order kinetic equation, the half-life of tebuconazole was calculated and the degradation dynamics in different tissues (fruit, leaf, petiole, pseudostem) were also analyzed. [Result]The initial deposits of tebuconazole in different banana tissues were found to be in the range of 0 to 0.945 mg/kg. At the foliar spray application, the half lives of tebuconazole in leaves, petiole and pseudostem were 7.7, 0.9 and 1.5 d, respectively. The tebuconazole was not detected in fruits. At the whole plant spray application, the half-life of tebuconazole in fruits was 27.0 d. [Conclusion]The degradation of tebuconazole in fruits was significantly slower than other banana tissues. Foliar spray application could reduce the residue of tebuconazole in fruits effectively. The contents of tebuconazole in different tissues of banana are below MHLs on the 28th day after spray application, therefore the tissues could be recycled and used safely. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
