Abstract

The subject of the paper is the capabilities and problems of simulation in computational and experimental fracture mechanics as applied to description of the stress-strain state in the neighborhood of the crack tip and the fracture mechanics parameters considering specific features of the local deformation fixity (stress triaxiality). Simulation techniques are illustrated by evaluation of fracture mechanics parameters of substandard cracked or notched specimens by numerical and experimental methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
