Abstract
- The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate the effect caffeine ingestion had on maximal voluntary contraction strength in upper and lower body muscle groups. Researchers evaluated 16 resistance trained men who received either caffeine or a placebo. They found that a moderate dose of caffeine improved maximal voluntary contraction strength in the men regardless of the location of muscle groups.
