Abstract

The article presents a study which compares the outcome and management of metropolitan and rural patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) in South Australia in 2014. Equivalent rates in the administration of chemotherapy between rural and city patients across every line of treatment were noted. Patterns of surgical management and chemotherapy of rural patients with mCRC were found to be the same to their metropolitan counterparts and result to comparable overall survival.
