Abstract

The article describes the case of a 26-year-old woman affected by end-stage cystic fibrosis in which kaolin-activated thromboelastography with heparinase (h-TEG) was used to monitor the effects of thrombolytic therapy for severe cardiac thrombosis which had occurred during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The case emphasized the importance of h-TEG to recognize the emergence of hypercoagulability after thrombolytic treatment.
