A VIABLE BIO-HARVEST.

The article discusses two key cellulosic ethanol projects in Iowa proving that harvesting a part of crop biomass and not impede soil quality or organic matter in the process is possible. The projects include the soil nutrient data gathered by POET-DSM at its Project Liberty site in Emmetsburg and the DuPont Industrial Biosciences' biomass project within its facility in Nevada. A chart showing how much stover must be kept in fields to prevent soil erosion from exceeding right levels is offered.
