Abstract
- The article deals with the problem experienced by farmers in Tennessee wherein their cotton have target spots which they consider as a seasonal disease. Topics covered include the involvement of the fungus Corynespora cassicola in the development of the disease and potential effects of the disease on defoliation and yields of cotton in the state. Also mentioned is the risk that the disease rich the fields in other parts of the U.S. including Georgia and Alabama.
