Abstract

An essay is presented on territorialism in relation to cyberspace governance, U.S. regulatory jurisdiction, and America's Supreme Court. The legal aspects of Internet communications and transactions are addressed, along with the Transfer Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and the relationship between law and technology. Extraterritoriality is examined in relation to American courts, the U.S. Alien Tort Statute, and various legal cases such as Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum Co.
