Abstract

Describes the properties of a plant-like ascorbate-dependent hemoperoxidase (TcAPX) from the American trypanosome Trypanosoma cruzi. Role of aerobic organisms hemoperoxidases in H[sub2]O[sub2] detoxification; Increased resistance of parasites that overexpressed TcAPX activity to exogenous H[sub2]O[sub2].
