Abstract

The article offers the author's view on the challenges of maintaining Internet routing security. She mentions the border gateway protocol (BGP) and its role in Internet management which allows data communications between significant networks from various organizations. She notes its capability in routing networks to destination Internet protocol (IP) prefixes which have variable lengths and addresses. An overview of the longest-prefix-match routing that involves packets and routers is also presented.
