Abstract
- The article critiques science fictions "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka, "Nightfall" by Isaac Asimov, and "The Machine Stops" by E. M. Forster. Particular focus is given to the crucial roles played by mundane boundaries which direct the biological and social lives of the characters in the stories. Kafka's fiction offers studies bodily and spatial situation, Asimov's tale tells about biosocial conditions, and Forster's story describes a society living underground in a complex system.
