Abstract

The article presents a study on the survival patterns of Australian women with epithelial ovarian cancer, by clinical and sociodemographic factors. Topics discussed include 1,192 women with invasive epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosed in 2005 and were identified through state-based cancer registries, survival differences by histological subtype, presence of ascites and comorbidities, and the ongoing poor long-term prognosis for women with ovarian cancer.
