Research progress on nondestructive testing and evaluation of TBC failure.

Thermal barrier coatings (TBC) are crucial materials of high-temperature components in aero-engine. Its quality and performance is therefore significant for nondestructive testing (NDT). This paper systematically reviews the history and research state of NDT techniques in the field of TBC. Moreover, it mainly introduces the development direction of NDT techniques which apply to the inspection of thermal grown oxide (TGO) and residual stress in thermal barrier coating.
