In 2003, a team of anthropologists made the shocking discovery of some very unusual skeletal remains at a cave on the island of Flores, Indonesia. The team had discovered a group of tiny bipedal human-like hominins who survived on Flores until very recently, overlapping with modern humans. This new hominin has been dubbedHomo floresiensis, and nicknamed “hobbit” due to its diminutive stature.
