Abstract

The article discusses issues concerning the presence of Chinese firms in Sub-Saharan Africa as of 2014. Topics covered include the lack of attention of management scholars to China's engagement in Africa, an assessment of the claim that China is the new imperialist in Africa in relation to the concept of the North-South divide, and the concept of Modernization Theory in Western development programmes for Africa. Also cited is China's contribution to Sub-Saharan Africa in terms of employment.
