Abstract
- Twenty-four dinucleotide microsatellite DNA markers were developed for a commercially important fish, Japanese sillago ( Sillago japonica). Loci were screened in 24 individuals from Laizhou Bay, China. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 7 to 24, and the observed and expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.333 to 0.913 and from 0.744 to 0.963, respectively. These microsatellites will facilitate the study of population-level variability (the genetic diversity and population structure) of S. japonica. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
