Abstract
- The article discusses how to reduce the exposure of workers to noise pollution in construction zones. Based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 125,000 workers have experienced major permanent hearing loss in the country since 2004 as of August 2014. It cites the key components of a Hearing Loss Prevention program as presented by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), including monitoring, noise controls, and hearing protection.
