Abstract
- The article discusses a study by Omer C. Stewart, an anthropologist, on the ecological importance of the use of fire on vegetation by Aboriginal community in Canada. Topics include the challenges in understanding ancient fires' role on vegetation, the conflict between religion and science, and ecologists' failure to use ethnographic studies about rejection of folklore.
