Abstract

Although still a relatively recent phenomenon, mental health courts, including some specifically focused on juvenile offenders, have seen a significant upsurge in the past decade. Despite this upsurge, few comprehensive studies have been done on their effectiveness. This Note examines various aspects of juvenile mental health courts and analyzes interviews with two mental health court professionals: one judge and one program director. The Note concludes by outlining the most effective ways to ensure the success of juvenile mental health courts in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
