Abstract

The authors assess an approach to brain imaging that will support Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis by combining structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cerebral blood flow (CBF) assessed by MRI-arterial spinning labelling (ASL). The approach, which is being studied by researchers H. K. Mak and colleagues, considers MRI-based hippocampal volume and perfusion measurement of the temporo-parietal region in an effort to improve AD diagnosis.
