Abstract

In this article, the author discusses some of the different ways in which artists are attempting to take control of their own markets. Examples discussed include Wade Guyton, who made duplicates of one of his works at the same time as the original was being sold at auction, and the British street artist Bansky, who sold paintings to unsuspecting tourists in New York City in 2013 for $60.
