CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY OF 3D-PRINTED LENSES.

In this article, the author discusses the application of three-dimensional printing technology in producing eyeglass frames and lenses. He refers to a report by the periodical "The Economist" according to which a Dutch company, Luxexcel, has developed a way to print objects in a transparent material with a precise shape, enough to be used as a lens. He further comments on prospect of producing spectacle lenses and contact lenses with 3D printing.
