Abstract

The article reports on the estimated tobacco use among adults in the U.S. from 2012 to 2013 based on data from the 2012-2013 National Adult Tobacco Survey (NATS). It discusses an estimated 21.3% of U.S. adults who used any tobacco product every day or some days during the period, the higher percentage of tobacco use every day or some days among men than women and a proposal by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to extend its authority to additional tobacco products in April 2014.
