Abstract
- The author discusses the primary objective of vision screening among children in Great Britain. Topics discussed include determinant of the cost-effectiveness of vision screening, visual function and acuity testing, and the conclusion of a major systematic review which revealed the absence of robust evidence of the effectiveness of amblyopia treatment. Other issues explained include the benefit of timely treatment and other screening recommendation of the National Screening Committee.
