Abstract

The article focuses on the delay in oil drilling by the U.S. companies in the North Sea between Great Britain and Norway as of November 1974 due to various reasons including difficult weather condition, shortages of basic material and financing delays. It discusses the assumption that the target production of 2.7 million barrels a day by 1980 will not be met and the eagerness of the British government to participate in the project to limit the profits that companies can get from the North Sea.
