Abstract
- Investigates the outbreak of six postinjection joint infections in July 1999 caused by Mycobacterium abscessus as reported to the Texas Department of Health in Austin. Use of benzalkonium chloride (BC) as an antiseptic which contributes to serious outbreaks of disease; Resistance of patients' strain to BC.
