Abstract
- The author discusses the issues on public health related to the immigration of Haitians to Brazil. An overview about the Haitian migration to Brazil and the health threat of lymphatic filariasis and cholera is provided. The author provides adequate medical care to the newly arrived Haitians and identify infectious diseases that might be reintroduced via immigration from epidemic and endemic countries.
