Abstract

Winter Biathlon can be considered one of the oldest human activities. It has its origins in hunting on skis. Military skiing patrols and their actions are reported more frequently at the very beginning of the second millennium AD in the northern regions. Biathlon trials combine two disciplines: cross-country skiing and rifle shooting when passing through a polygon. One of society's most important achievements is the invention and use of artificial intelligence which was made possible through the discovery of computers. Due to the high potential to make work more efficient, the computer has widely been introduced in all kinds of domains, from office work and to sports activities. In professional sport, computers make the collaboration between technical staff members easier as the data can be handled by the computer network in real time. You can also keep track of the results and can make a prediction of the results for future competitions. The aim of our paper is to introduce the means to use computers in order to monitor performance in biathlon for cross-country skiing and rifle shooting when passing through a polygon.
