Abstract

The article discusses the 1960s Cuban refugee children program known as Operation Pedro Pan during the Cold War, focusing on the program's operations in Montana. It examines the role of the Catholic Church in operating the program, particularly the organization Montana Catholic Charities, Inc., and the Diocese of Helena, Montana. It also discusses the Catholic Church's opposition to Communism. The article discusses several Cuban-born children who lived in Montana including Mario Toca, Oscar Fong, and Reinaldo Fong.
