Abstract
- The article focuses on the contrasting personalities of John Monash of Melbourne, Victoria and King George V of Great Britain. It notes that Monash, a 53-year-old engineer electrified Victoria after the war where he earned an outstanding reputation as commander-in-chief and Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath. Meanwhile, it states that King George V, a heavy smoker who despised the working classes and hated the idea of female suffrage, died by a lethal injection of morphine and cocaine.
