Abstract

The article discusses a study on paradoxes of intellectual property (IP) with a focus on Iranian software IP protection. These paradoxical phenomena related to IP protection include weak enforcement despite good IP laws and demand for more IP rights despite weak IP protection. Flaws of the past research regarding the paradoxes are analyzed, while the focus of the study is placed on de jure software protection in Iran. Also provided is a review of the literature on software protection in Iran.
