Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the theory of Cognitive Grammar highlighting the aspects that can be applied to classroom second language acquisition. The paper begins with a brief introduction to CG and then focuses on the concepts that are most relevant for teaching case to German language learners such as transitivity and the functions of the cases.
