Abstract
- The article discusses a study which examined the relationship between obesity and mental health disorders (MHD) such as serious psychological distress (SPD), anxiety and depression in active duty personnel in the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps. It describes how the study was conducted and the use of the 2005 U.S. Department of Defense Health Related Behaviors Survey. It also mentions the need for personnel screening to identify MHD risk elements.
