Abstract
- Experimental waste liquid from the experiment named determination of chemical equilibrium constant and partition coefficient was used as raw materials, The optimum conditions for recycling of the waste liquid containing iodine and CCl<subscript>4</subscript> was investigated, in which KIO<subscript>3</subscript> was employed as oxidants and recovery yield of iodine as research indicator. The results shows that recovery yield of iodine can reach 91. 43% under the following conditions; 1. 2 times theoretical amount of KIO<subscript>3</subscript> and theoretical amount of sulfuric acid, reaction time 0. 5 h, V( CCl<subscript>4</subscript>) : V(concentrate water) 500 mL : 200 mL. Recycled carbon tetrachloride containing iodine was used in experimental determination of partition coefficiency (K<subscript>d</subscript>) and equilibrium constant (K<subscript>c</subscript>). Compared with original CCl<subscript>4</subscript> containing iodine, the error of K<subscript>d</subscript> and K<subscript>c</subscript> is 0. 75% and 1. 87%, respectively. The results indicate that recycling procedure is appropriate and recycled CCl<subscript>4</subscript> containing iodine can be used in the experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
