APPLICATIONS FOR LIGHTWEIGHT GEOFOAM FILL.

The article discusses the basic applications for lightweight geofoam fill which include reducing lateral loads on structures, creating a zero loading factor for soft soil remediation and reducing lateral and dead loads. The key advantage of using the material in retaining walls and building foundations is outlined. The capability of geofoam to protect utilities during seismic activity by reducing in-situ vertical/lateral stresses is also tackled.
