Endovascular or open repair strategy for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm: 30 day outcomes from IMPROVE randomised trial.

The article discusses a randomised controlled trial to identify patients who may benefit from an endovascular strategy. Eligible patients with a clinical diagnosis of ruptured aneurysm were recruited at 29 vascular centers in Great Britain and one Canadian centre. It indicates that women appeared to benefit more than men from an endovascular strategy although there was no convincing differences with respect to Hardman index or age.
