Abstract
- The article presents insights on a study of patient choice in the selection of hospitals by 9-1-1 emergency medical services providers in trauma systems. Topics discussed include the role of the patient's voice in health-seeking behavior, the discovery of the unmeasured confounder in the relationship between severity of injury and transport to a trauma center and the patients' prioritization of outcomes other than in-hospital mortality.
