- In the article, the author discusses developments in the U.S. stock market as of mid-July 1973. He cites the move by the Committee on Interest and Dividends to liberalize dividend payouts in the market. He examines the effects of the move to the performance of the Dow Jones industrials (DJI). He also explains the effects of the liberalization on interest rates.
