Abstract

This chapter deals with a model that has been a basis for healing from the first records of human history. This model serves as a consistent basis in modern methodology for treating modern diseases. The model is referred to here as the transpersonal medicine model. The ultimate goal of transpersonal medicine is realizing one's inherent completeness and divinity. There is an additional source-call it spiritual-which resides within each person and helps to unfold the capability to heal others and oneself if it can be cultivated and nurtured. In transpersonal medicine, the 'diagnosis' label is replaced by a 'transformative charge' and the 'protocol' is replaced by the steps or rituals that lead to transformation. The decision may be made by numerous avenues; however, the decision sets the person's single focus in life on the path of transformation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
