Abstract

The article reports on method for step-rate injection method for fracture in-situ properties (SIMFIP) with the help of a 3-components borehole deformation sensor. Topics discussed include scope of suggested method, apparatus used in the determination of SIMFIP and estimation of rock stress. Also presents a schematic diagram of SIMFIP test comprising of pressure valve, fiber optic interferometer and pressure temperature sensors.
