Abstract: The article discusses science and technology issues relating to energy that may come before the 113th U.S. Congress. Topics addressed include the roles and funding of the U.S. Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy and the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science, spent nuclear fuel reprocessing, and the development of ocean energy technology and biofuels. The lack of a firm consensus on the optimal level of federal funding for research and development (R&D) is also mentioned.
