Social Compliance is in the interest of the textile industry.

The article calls on the immediate review of the status of social compliance of the textile industry in Pakistan following the fire which resulted to the death of more than 300 workers in a garment factory in Karachi. It notes that the tragedy highlighted the working conditions in garment and textile factories. Also discussed are the burden for industries to meet the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) and the existence of state-of-the-art factories in Pakistan.
