Abstract

The article offers information on treatment options for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It informs that the treatment of OSA with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is regarded as successful if a reduction in the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) below five is achieved while using devices. It mentions that the effectiveness of conservative treatment regarding the reduction of AHI depends both on its impact on airway obstruction and compliance.
