Abstract

The article discusses the use of document markup language HTML5 in digital publishing and presents advice on its employment for the development of digital advertisements. Recommendations are derived from the paper "HTML5 for Digital Advertising 1.0: Guidance for Ad Designers & Creative Technologists" published by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and include limitations of the size, file size, and length for different types of advertisements. Considerations regarding the browser support of HTML5 products are also included.
